A ward committee is established to assist the Ward Councillor, who is the chairperson to carry out their mandates. This ensures enhanced participatory democracy.

The ward committee should be elected by the community and is comprised of ten (10) members each from members within the ward. These members should represent a wide range of interest groups relevant to the municipal key performance areas.
