The Haartbeespoortdam in the Madibeng area is the second most visited place after the Waterfront in Cape Town. It is estimated that approximately 19000 – 20 000 vehicles drive per weekend over the Haartbeespoort Wall.

Madibeng is well serviced in terms of tourist services and products. Primarily the Madibeng area caters for adventure tourists with various nature reserves, camping sites, fishing, hunting and hiking hot spots. The area also makes provision for the cultural and historic enthusiasts with several cultural villages and historic sites.

 

Apart from the variety of tourist services and products, there is an abundance of tourist attractions in the Madibeng area. These attractions vary from animal parks to industrial activities such as mining and cheese manufacturing.
